Located in a Military Reuse Zone, companies may qualify for reduced personal property taxes, reduced or eliminated real property taxes, employee tax credits, and transaction privileged tax exemptions! In addition, WGAA offers additional lease incentives for several aviation target markets.

Military Reuse Zone Program (MRZ)

The Military Reuse Zone (MRZ) Program was established by the state legislature in 1992 to lessen the impact of military base closures.  In 1992, the former Williams Air Force Base, now known as Williams Gateway Airport, was designated as Arizona’s first MRZ.  Companies locating within these zones may qualify for the three tax benefits described below.  Eligible companies include manufacturers, assemblers, or fabricators of aviation or aerospace products and providers of aviation or aerospace services.  Benefits include:

Class six (6) personal property taxes instead of class one (1), may result in property tax savings of up to 80 percent for a period of five years.

Arizona income tax credits for up to five years for each net new job created.

Prime contractor exemption from transaction privilege taxes for certain types of construction at the zone location.

Questions regarding this program may be directed to the Program Manager.
