Passenger Opportunities
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) offers airlines a convenient and cost effective location for passengers traveling
to and from the Phoenix-Mesa metropolitan area, the sixth largest O&D market in the United States. Located in Mesa,
Arizona, Gateway is part of one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country, with more than one-million people
residing within 30-minutes of the Airport.
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport has three parallel runways, each more than 9,300 feet, offering tremendous capacity and
unrestricted access to the skies. The Charles L. Williams Passenger
Terminal currently has four gates with an additional two opening in the Fall of 2010. New baggage claim areas,
retail shops, and rental car facilities are being added in addition to upgrades in ticketing area and TSA security
lines. A quick, secure, and pleasant Gateway passenger experience is our top goal.
The local business community is a key driver of success at Gateway. Major corporations and facilities within 20-miles
of Gateway include Intel Corporation, Motorola, the Boeing Company, Orbital Sciences, and Countrywide. In addition, the
real estate development community surrounding Gateway are frequent commuters to the Southern California region, Las
Vegas, Dallas-Fort Worth, and other major business centers.
Leisure travelers will find resorts, world-class golf courses, and access to numerous outdoor activities from
Gateway. With new hotels and activities springing up every day, you can always find something exciting going on around
Gateway. Gaylord Entertainment and Resorts will be building a new resort just north of Gateway with new conference
space and a Tom Fazio design golf course.
